This is a sweet little piece that reflects the adobe architecture of the southwest. The burnt orange Thai Unryu paper is the exact color of an adobe wall. The Boxelder base reminds me of vigas sticking out of an old plastered home. The mulberry colored young Boxelder branches were in bud in the mountains outside of Santa Fe when I harvested them. Santa Fe has been home for the past 26 years and this lamp creation embodies the natural beauty of the land and buildings as well as a sense of comfortable peace that comes from feeling at one with your environment. Lit with a plug-in LED 25W bulb that stays cool to the touch and lasts up to 50,000 hours.
